Dogs make our lives so much better by loving us unconditionally. We owe it to them to give them the best lives possible. Here are a few ways to make your doggos’ and puppers’ lives happier and healthier.
The Basics
First things first you want to get the basics right. Let your dogs live and sleep in your house, and provide a doggy door for them to go outside. Provide your dog with a doggy bed and wash it fairly regularly.
Fresh water
It’s important that you supply your furry friend with clean, fresh water on a daily basis. Make sure to keep an eye on the water bowl during the hotter summer months because you might need to fill it more often.
Food
Ensure that you feed your dog only the highest quality pet food full of the minerals and nutrients they need to be healthy. Your dog’s diet should be nourishing and balanced and can include “people food” such as raw-unsalted peanut butter, baby carrots, pumpkin, sliced apples and oatmeal.
Exercise and socialize your dog
Walk and play with your dog daily. Play tug, fetch and be sure to buy your dog chew toys and balls to play with. Take regular trips to the dog park or beach to offer your dog new sights and smells.
The vet
Schedule regular vet appointments for your dogs to make sure that everything is okay and that their hygiene is in check.
Be the best alpha you can be
Dogs feel safe when you provide them with rules, boundaries and a stable routine. You should also increase your dog’s mental stimulation by training him/her. Never be aggressive around or with your dog.
Love them up!
Give your dog plenty of scritches, massages, compliments and treats. When you leave your dogs at home you can create a treasure hunt by leaving treats around the house.
